The recipe I have used for many years
- 1.75 cups of flour
- 2/3 cup sugar(I use splenda)
- 1 t. baking powder
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/4 t. baking soda
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 mashed, ripe bananas
- 2 eggs
Mix together all the dry ingredients and then cut in the shortening. I whipped the bananas and the eggs together and combined with the dry. Once mixed I added golden raisins and the lavender.
Bake for 50-60 minutes at 350. I checked for doneness using a toothpick.
A wonderful banana bread with a subtle hint of lavender.
