February 2021 – The wind fence in action. The lavender plants are also covered by a blanket of snow and the fence is blocking the frigid winds. We had two weeks of extremely cold weather.

Setting Up Wind Fence

To protect the plants in winter from the nasty winds, we put up wind fences using pallets and frost cloth. We do not get much snow and our biggest concerns are periods of severe cold accompanied by heavy wind.
