March 2020 — We are trying to keep the old corn granary pretty much the same. It tells a lot about our farm’s history as the whole corn cob was stored. But we added on a new tin roof to keep it dry and risk future wood damage.

We have been busily working on the big barn’s interior to contain our new shop. As spring is getting ready to make its appearance, we finally got on someone’s schedule to replace the roof. Nice and dry now. And the second solid oak floors are stellar. Cant wait to show you.

Rather than covering the lavender this year, we decided to add a wind break to control the intensity of the cold winds. We ended up using a silt fence and then fortified the stakes with another board so we wedged the fabric between 2 boards providing greater strength.
Learn MoreNovember 2019 – The frost has arrived. We cut done the wildflower patches preparing them for next year. We dead headed several of the flowers to spread them to the thinners areas. Collected one last vase full of flowers for the year.
Learn MoreAnother season of growing lavender is ending. The cold air is right around the corner. It is time to trim the plants down and shape them for next year. As we are pruning the corn is also being shelled. The corn and lavender coexisting in harmony.
